Hanalei Bay, Anini Beach, Princeville Beach, Lumahai,  Ke’e , Tunnels.  That says it all… probably the best lineup of gorgeous beaches in the world.  All are picture perfect.

Hanalei Bay, I have friends who sailed all over the Pacific for 10 years, but when they sailed into Hanalei Bay, they said they had never seen anything more beautiful, anywhere.  They sold their boat and have lived in Hanalei ever since.  Made famous by George Clooney’s “The Descendants” and a premier surfing location, Hanalei Bay is truly world class.

As beautiful as Hanalei Bay is, as a wedding location even Paradise has its price.   Although it is a very broad beach for most of the year, there are always people strolling the Bay, even early morning and especially at sunset.  But you’ve got that view…!

Princeville Beach is on the East end of Hanalei Bay and adjacent to the private St. Regis beach area.  Probably the best view of the Northshore coastline and sunset over the ocean from March to late September.  It’s a little harder to get to as you have to walk down the public access stairs next to St. Regis, but if you having your wedding dinner at the St. Regis Resort, you can valet park and take the elevator down to the beach.   If you get married at Hanalei Bay Resort and have your ceremony on their spectacular bluff overlooking the bay, this is the beach you would go to for photos.

Anini Beach is a very popular snorkeling beach and is protected by a large reef.  At either end of Anini there are private spots which work well for weddings.  One spot, known as the Keyhole, is on a lava rock platform that juts out into the ocean and is perfect during calm summer seas.  The other end is a quiet sand beach.

Lumahai (Nurse’s Beach), Tunnels (Makua Beach) and Ke’e (End of the Road) all are lush and tropical, and usually almost deserted at sunset.  Each is knockout beautiful with Ke’e having views down the Na Pali coast.   During the winter, the waves can be dramatic and dangerous.  In fact, there are no permits issued for Lumahai Beach between Labor Day and Memorial Day.

North Shore Resorts.  If you prefer to have your wedding through one of the resorts, I recommend Hanalei Bay Resort, the Westin or St. Regis in Princeville and Hanalei Colony Resort in Ha’ena.  See our Pinterest board of Hanalei Bay Resort  http://pinterest.com/kauaiceremony/hanalei-bay-resort-weddings/
