The Eastside of Kauai is the perfect location if you are planning a sunrise or early morning wedding and you want to see the sun come up over the ocean. Many locations on the Eastside are close to resorts so you could walk out of your room and be adjacent to a beautiful private spot for your ceremony.
Maka’iwa Beach. Better known as Coconut Coast Beach, this is a great private place in the Kapa’a –Wailua area. It is a private orange sand beach that is usually almost deserted, since it is not a swimming beach. It’s best at low tide, and is steps from both the Courtyard by Marriot and the Coconut Coast Resort.
Papaloa Cove on Wailua Bay. Another private slice of beach with views across Wailua Bay and the mountains in the background. Wailua is one of the most sacred areas on Kauai. It was the home of the Hawaiian ali’i (royalty).
Nukoli’i Beach. This is another rather private location adjacent to the Kauai Beach Resort.
Kalapaki Beach. Located in Lihue, the north end of the beach is a very popular wedding spot for couples staying at the Kauai Marriott and couples coming on the cruise ships who want to be married on the beach on Kauai during their stopover.
Other popular places on the Eastside of Kauai include: Lydgate Beach Park, Smith’s Tropical Paradise, Kealia Beach and Aliomanu Beach, which is a little north of Kapa’a Town. If you wish to stay at a resort and have your wedding planned for you, I highly recommend Courtyard by Marriott.
