Kauai Gay Marriage

Kauai Gay WeddingsIt's about time! I feel very fortunate to be able to offer same sex marriage on Kauai. Since January 2012, we have been providing Civil Unions as a legal entity in Hawaii. Even though I have been doing civil union (or gay marriage) ceremonies since the 1980s, it is nice that they have now become legally recognized SAME SEX MARRIAGES in the State of Hawaii.

One thing that has been so touching, since we have been able to do Same Sex Marriages in Hawaii, is that fact that so many couples have been waiting for this day for many, many years. And now they finally can legally share their lives. We have had many heart warming moments. I am glad that I can help facilitate so many joyous ceremonies.

I do both Nonreligious (the more popular) and Christian non-denomination same sex marriages. Of course, these allow you the choice of adding Hawaiian options. Both follow the course of my Marriage Ceremonies, with your choices of husband and husband, wife and wife or life partners recognition within the ceremony. You will be pronounced in the fashion you prefer. Please email me for your ceremony of choice.

You are welcome to make as many additions, deletions or changes that you wish or to provide your own personal vows to each other to add to or replace the vows within the ceremony.

I always tell couples, "it's your wedding and you may have it any way you want." The most important thing is that you have the experience that you will always remember in your hearts.

"Aloha Larry, Thank you again for a beautiful ceremony on Saturday and for being a part of our special day.  It was a pleasure meeting you and having you marry us in such a breathtaking location.  Your words truly touched our hearts and the hearts of our closest family and friends.  We will cherish the memories of that day until death do us part :) Our day was perfect and we could not have asked for a better mix of love and happiness all in one place.  Mahalo again from San Francisco and best wishes for a great holiday season."

Many thanks, Chuck and Brian

Kauai Vow Renewals

kauai vow renewal

Believe it or not, Vow Renewals are my favorite! It is so gratifying to see a couple that has been married 5, 10 or 25 years wanting to share their love.  Sometimes emotions run so strong, that we have to pause for a moment before continuing on.

One interesting thing is that about half of all vow renewal ceremonies are surprises for one of the spouses (often it is the husband surprising his wife).  I am grateful for every vow renewal ceremony I get to be part of.

I perform both Non-religious and Christian Vow Renewal Ceremonies, which include optional Hawaiian elements for you to include, if you wish.

You are welcome to make as many additions, deletions or changes that you wish or to provide your own personal vows to each other to add to or replace the vows within the ceremony.

"Hi Larry. So I've got to tell you, I showed your words in the sample vow renewal to my mother-in-law and she was crying almost instantly.  I read them and they're fantastic.  The Ohana Aloha and Lei Exchange are definitely things we'd like to have added in. "

Non-Religious Ceremonies

kauai wedding ceremony

The most popular weddings on Kauai are the nonreligious marriage ceremony.  After coming all the way to Kauai, many couples also like to have Hawaiian elements included in their ceremony, which I consider both meaningful and emotional (please see explanation of these on this page).  I am happy to email you a copy of this ceremony.
Though many brides and grooms choose the complete ceremony as written, some prefer a shorter ceremony.  You are welcome to make as many additions, deletions or changes that you wish or to provide your own personal vows to each other to add to or replace the vows within the ceremony.
I always tell couples, "it's your wedding and you can have it any way you want."  The most important thing is that you have the experience that you will always remember in your hearts.

Kauai Christian Weddings

kauai christain weddingI perform two different nondenominational Christian Marriage ceremonies. Some people are not sure what nondenominational means. Basically, nondenoninational recognizes Christ and Chrisitianity, but with no specific alignment to any one Church, but still holding onto the doctrine. Our Lord is part of this marriage ceremony.

I perform two different Christian ceremonies. My first ceremony has been popular for years and also includes Hawaiian elements. My second ceremony I just started  doing last year  after a couple asked me to do a specific ceremony for them.  I have taken that ceremony and made a few modifications to  it, and now  make it available to all couples.  I am happy to say that it  has  become  equally as popular as  my original.
You are welcome to make as many additions, deletions or changes that you wish or to provide your own personal vows to each other to add to or replace the vows within the ceremony.
